Grr. Rant. Grumble. Expletives in copious number.

So. I've been feeling off-colour for weeks, I've developed a painful and very itchy rash on my arms which refuses to go away, and everything in my bedroom feels damp when I pick it up.

Huh. Maybe it's the window, it's not very well sealed and there's always a little bit of condensation on it.

...Nu-uh.

I go to pick up my pillows this morning to flip them over, and what do I find?

Mould. Growing in copious amounts on both pillowcases and pillows. Horrified, I check the rest of the bed, and find that the sheet, wooden bed frame, carpet, and wall are not only damp, but soaking wet, and also beginning to sprout greenish furry patches..

Obviously, I go to tell the staff. They come in to look, nod knowingly and say it's probably damp.

Well, excuse my tone, but duh.

They trace the damp to the flat above me that's had a leaking pipe for two months. Funny, that's about how long I've had this rash on my arms.

Then, just as I decide to ty to get a couple of hours' sleep before logging on, they come knocking at my door with the man who cam to look at the upstairs pipes. He informs us that the entire inside of the wall where damp is spreading will need removing, treating, and replastering and whatnot.

And basically, if I sleep in my own bedroom it'll wreck my already pretty crappy health further. I've been forced to relocate to the living room floor.

Did something utterly fuck up when they were setting my comfort levels up on high? Can't even get to fucking sleep now. Tired, but can't go.

Argh, not good. Damp's a bitch. Any idea how long it'll take them to sort it? (And be thankful they are sorting it; you're going to be horrified by the damp on the wall in our living room that the landlord won't do anything about.)

I've no idea how long it'll take. A repair request's gone in, but even marked as "urgent" it could take a good few days, and over the weekend too...

*hugs back* It's miserable, yes, but at least I know what's been wrong with me now.

*hug* (hey, I seem to get hugged a lot lately.)

I hope they fix it soon, too. The floor isn't very soft.

You don't have a sofa or anything like that you can sleep on?

The sofa's too small for anyone over the age of about five to sleep on. I have the floor, a duvet that miraculously escaped the fungus invasion, and a sleeping bag. It'll do.
