Urgh. Urgh. Urgh.

Getting a few bottles of drink in to celebrate one's twenty-first birthday? Seemed like a great idea at the time. Get a bit tipsy, natter with my mates online, and enjoy feeling better than normal.

This scenario, however, depended on my actually measuring the amount of booze going into the drink. Which I neglected in favour of just sloshing it in and thinking "eh, that looks all right".

Note to self: this method leads to getting lost on your way to the bathroom not ten feet away and barely getting there in time to throw up, followed by stumbling back into the bedroom and literally falling onto the bed to sleep.

I remember listening to music and chatting to several people. However, did not recall what was said until this morning. Thank you very much, [livejournal.com profile] julyflame, for showing me that I lose my ability to type a coherent sentence when rat-arsed.

And, um... [livejournal.com profile] lycaenion, [livejournal.com profile] cofmanynames, and anyone else I spoke to last night, please reassure me I didn't say anything offensive? If I did, I apologise profusely.

Hangover remedies, please. Water and painkillers only help so far... *curls up and groans*

Sleep. I was only drunk and hungover once, and it was more than enough to ensure that I never did it again. Really, I did pretty much the same as you, only I was about ten months later and didn't have the birthday excuse. :(

*hugs* Poor you. And don't worry, you didn't say anything to me, and even if you had, I'd forgive you for it. I'm sure everyone else does, too. Just curl up and sleep, if you can, keep the curtains closed, threaten anyone else in the house with bloody murder if they make noise, and if that fails, get some sleeping pills.

... If that fails, try a hot bath. Might not help the actual hangover, but it could soothe the symptoms.

(Disclaimer in case more experienced drinkers *coughPadscough* decide to correct me: I'm no expert on hangover cures. I'm just listing the things that make me feel better.

*hugs Cassie again*

A bath is good, but a shower is better for clearing the brain-fuzziness. If you're really hardcore you can flick between really hot and really cold to shock your body into responsiveness, though I've never tried this myself.

Painkillers, plenty of water, and something to eat would be my suggestion. Preferably something with grease, like a bacon sandwich or a full English. Failing that, an entire multipack of crisps tends to help - I'm currently considering how best to bribe Ziekk into going to the shops for crisps for my hangover.

Also, Cassie, don't worry too much about your typing going to hell or possibly offending people. Everyone puts up with me when drunk and you won't've been nearly so bad as that.

I tried the shower when I woke up, though just with hot water, and that helped a bit. Like I told you before, I tried the painkillers and water, they're helping. Food is a theoretical possibility right now, but I may go looking soon.

And yes, but everyone's used to you drunk. :P Coming from me it's new.

Ah, but I've paved the way for you, y'see, so you can behave absolutely dreadfully and no one will bat an eye.

Ziekk's gone out to get my multipack of crisps. He is a good boy, bless him.

*accepts hugs gratefully*

Sadly, I live in a rented flat that's currently undergoing building work, so curling up in bed and sleeping in peace isn't an option. Neither is a hot bath, as the flat has no bathtub. I'm making do with barricading myself in my bedroom, where the builders are not, and feeling sorry for myself.

But the suggestions are appreciated, and will be remembered. Thanks. :)

You don't have anywhere else you can go? A friend who owes you a favour and has a quiet flat? :(

And welcome, though I wish I could be more help.
